Justine is a first year PhD student at Johns Hopkins University, studying comparative cognition and perception in nonhuman primates and humans. She grew up in Arizona before attending Emory University as a first-generation Latina student in the Linguistics and Psychology departments. After graduating with a bachelors, she worked as a lab manager at Duke University studying rhesus macaque neuroanatomy. She was a Project SHORT mentee last year and is excited to serve as a mentor for future students!
