Joely is currently a predoctoral psychology trainee in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Miami. Originally from Rhode Island, she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Boston College. Under the mentorship of Dr. Lara Traeger, she conducts research on the psychosocial adjustment of patients facing cancer and participate in the development of evidence-based in-person and digital health interventions to improve the quality of life for patients living with chronic graft-versus-host disease. She engages in mixed methods research methodologies as she aims to achieve greater insight regarding the impact of such interventions as voiced by our patients. She holds additional interest in understanding strategies that oncology providers can adopt to optimally and effectively communicate prognosis with their patients, specifically older adults, as they grapple with changes in functioning and significant loss.
