Joanna received her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara where she also received minors in Applied Psychology and Educational Studies. She then worked at the University of California, San Francisco Center for Health and Community for three years where she led various studies examining the link between psychosocial stress and biophysiological markers of health. Currently, Joanna is a PhD student at the University of California, Davis in the developmental psychology area. Her research interests surround stress in children and adolescents, social buffering, resilience-promoting mechanisms and exploring the role of machine learning and wearable technology in predicting stress and stress-related disorders.
