James is a Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California, studying Public Policy and Management. After receiving his B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Michigan, he worked for the Eviction Lab at Princeton University as well as the Research, Policy, and Planning Department of the North Carolina Judicial Branch. Working with both academic researchers and practitioners across many disciplines, he has been grateful for the variety of mentors who have helped him through his journey to pursue independent research, and hopes to pay that forward as a mentor with Project SHORT. The graduate school application process is an incredibly stressful time, and he hopes to provide assistance and insight to prospective social science graduate students trying to navigate the many disciplinary and interdisciplinary choices available to them.
