Inbar is a PhD student in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University, where she studies the evolution of biodiversity using tree lizards in Jamaica. By integrating genetics, measurements of individuals and their habitat, and observations of the animals in their natural environment, she is working to understand how populations and species are related to each other, and what influences have shaped their evolutionary journey. Inbar first started working with Caribbean lizards thanks to a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. She earned her Bachelors degree in Biology from Arizona State University, where she also worked as a university-affiliated writing tutor. She then completed a dual Masters degree in Evolutionary Biology at Uppsala University in Sweden and LMU in Munich, Germany. At every step detailed above (and more!) Inbar also faced uncertainty and rejection, which are completely normal but not usually included in the narrative of ones journey through academia. She looks forward to listening, to discussing, and to offering the tools and advice needed to increase access and support individual journeys. In addition to scientific research, Inbar also enjoys hiking, baking, gardening, and watching funny shows.
