Ilakkiya is a 1st Ph.D. student in the Genetics and Genomics program within the Program in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Michigan. She finished her Genetics B.S. with honors at Purdue University in May 2022. In undergrad, her research experiences included mouse egg maturation regulation and drug synthesis optimization for acute myeloid leukemia. Her current research interests are in gene regulation, gene editing, and epigenetics. In her free time, Ilakkiya likes to watch TV shows, listen to music, and read fiction.
