Hart is a theoretical condensed matter physicist working on a broad range of topics in strongly correlated quantum matter including quantum criticality, non-Fermi liquid metals, disordered-interacting systems, and exotic topological orders. Hart earned his PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2020, after which he moved on to a Gordon and Betty Moore Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT. He is currently a Kadanoff Fellow at the University of Chicago.
