He/him/his

Nick is a Ph.D. student in Materials Engineering funded by NSF GRFP. His research focuses on greenhouse gas (GHG) utilization using electrochemical methods. To do this, he fabricates electrochemical cells and engineers electrode/electrolyte/membrane system so that GHG reduction process can be achieved with high degrees of selectivity and efficiency. The goal of the project is to transform GHG into value-added products, which can be a part of the solution to mitigate the global warming effect. Before grad school, Nick obtained his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at UC Berkeley. He was a research fellow at Berkeley and Brookhaven National Labs, where he worked on bio-image and battery research, respectively. He has also worked in AgTech and BioTech companies in Silicon Valley before coming to Hopkins. Outside the lab, Nick is a board member at the Hopkins Graduate Student Body where he organizes events and advocates for graduate students’ well-being. He is also involved with Hopkins Science Policy Group to focus on policies relating to energy and sustainability. During his free time, Nick enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, reading, and traveling.
