Gianna is a second year PhD candidate from the Department of Chemistry at Princeton University. She is interested in the control of quantum systems with electromagnetic fields. Gianna’s research is both theoretical and experimental, with a current focus on using NMR to manipulate and control quantum spins. Ultimately, she would like to steer her research in the direction of quantum information science. Gianna is also involved in a research project on using viral models to incorporate greater biochemical detail into evolutionary fitness landscapes. She graduated from Muhlenberg, a small liberal arts college, in 2018 where she studied biochemistry and mathematics. Outside of the lab, Gianna loves to spend time with her family, sing, sunbathe, and play with dogs.
