Fiona is a 3rd year post doctoral research scholar at Oregon State University. She completed her undergraduate studies in Geology at the University of Bristol in the UK, before working for geophysical survey companies both offshore and onshore. She returned to academia in 2013 completing her PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Leeds. Her research focuses on using petrological techniques to decipher volcano eruption timescales, and hopes to use multi-disciplinary techniques in the future. She completed her first post doctoral position in Australia and a field project funded by National Geographic before her current role. Outside of research she enjoys many outdoor pursuits such as hiking, mountain biking, nordic skiing and white water rafting.
