Erin is a 1st year MS student in Ocean Ecology and Biogeochemistry at Oregon State Univeristy. She studies how ocean acidification affects brooding oyster populations. She is specifically focused on how these oysters seem to be uniquely adapted to acidified water. Erin earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Rhode Island in Marine Biology. At URI she studied phytoplankton dynamics and participated in a lot of field work. As part of the Hollings Scholarship, she studied ocean acidification and juvenile Dungeness crabs. It was there that she realized she wanted to pursue graduate work in the field. Outside of research, Erin enjoys yoga and reading anything she can get her hands on.
