Emily Brudner is a PhD candidate in Psychology at Rutgers University-Newark working with Dr. Mauricio Delgado in the Social and Affective Neuroscience Lab. Her research focuses on how the brain evaluates social rewards and how these processes influence decision making and social behavior. She also studies the influence of environmental adversity, such as stress and poverty, on social reward processing and decision making. Emily is originally from Windsor, ON Canada and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Emily serves as graduate liaison for her university’s Psi Chi International Honors Society chapter, where she works to make research, clinical, and career opportunities and resources more accessible to undergraduate psychology students, particularly those who are from underrepresented backgrounds. She also founded a graduate mentorship program in her department, pairing undergraduate and graduate students to provide one-on-one guidance for graduate school preparation. Emily is extremely passionate about mentoring future scientists and is excited to be a part of the amazing Project SHORT team!
