Emily is a Neurobiology postdoctoral research fellow at Stanford University. She got her B.S. in Biological Sciences and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Francisco. She grew up in a Maryland suburb of DC spending her free time playing in the forest and meeting plants with her plant pathologist parents. Her research interests are spatial navigation and memory, sometimes in Alzheimer's disease models, and her work involves sticking electrodes into brains and watching them think. In her free time, she still talks to plants (in her porch garden) and attempts to do gymnastics.
