Ellen Kneeskern is a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Rochester pursuing her doctorate in Developmental Psychology. Ellen graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2018, where she double majored in Psychology and English. She then worked as a research coordinator in the Center for ADHD at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for two years, working primarily on academic executive functioning interventions for adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is interested in the impact and development of stereotypes and prejudice in children, the sources of information that influence this development, children’s reasoning, perceptions, and actions surrounding social issues and inequality, and intervention work aimed at overcoming biased attitudes. Ellen is especially passionate about interdisciplinary research, and bringing together multiple areas of work to answer her research questions. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, running, hiking, hammocking, and salsa dancing!
