David grew up and attended college at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. He got his double Bachelor's degrees in Life Science and Entomology and his Masters's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at National Taiwan University. From 2013-to 2019, he pursued his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of California-Riverside. He joined NYU Biology Department as a postdoc in January 2020. He is a developmental neurobiologist interested in understanding how functional neuronal circuits are built during development. I have been particularly fascinated by sensory systems that enable animals to detect environmental inputs that drive appropriate behaviors.
