CJ Clarke is a PhD researcher in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. Under the supervision of Dr. Michael Fop, CJ's research focuses on developing latent variable models for model-based clustering of collections of networks. CJ's academic journey began with an undergraduate degree in pure mathematics, followed by a master's degree in data analytics and computational science, both from UCD. These experiences have equipped CJ with a robust foundation in both theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics and data science. Passionate about inspiring students from diverse backgrounds to pursue STEM degrees and careers, especially women, CJ has been actively involved with Code First Girls. Over several years, CJ has taught introductory Python programming to women, many of whom have gone on to obtain degrees in STEM or embark on STEM careers. Beyond academia, CJ enjoys a variety of interests. A Disney enthusiast, CJ also stays active through Irish dancing and cherishes time spent with family, friends, and her adorable dog, Charlie.
