Chelsea Brown is a student in the Cognitive Psychology PhD program at CU Boulder. Her research focuses on how learning and communication are influenced and impacted by technology. Current projects involve implementing a language-learning app, comparing emotion recognition software, and she is also involved in local community outreach. Chelsea obtained her undergraduate psychology degree from Emory University and holds an MSc from the University of Edinburgh for the program of Mind, Language and Embodied Cognition. She was a Teach for America teacher in the Hartford, CT area and taught high school Engineering and Chemistry. Additionally, she worked for the nonprofit organization Children and Screens: Institute of Digital Media and Child Development for which she was a Project Manager. She is happy to share her experiences and believes she has specific insight for anyone applying internationally as well as for anyone returning to academia after years away.
