Cedric is a first-year PhD student in the Integrated Biomedical Graduate Studies program at Loma Linda University in Southern California. He is an aspiring physician-scientist taking the long way around to earning an MD-PhD dual degree. Cedric previously earned a B.S. Microbiology degree in 2015 from San Diego State University, after which he conducted research on myosin-based diseases using the fruit fly as a model in the lab of SDSU's Dr. Sanford Bernstein. Building on the skills learned from those research years, Cedric then earned an M.S. Biological Sciences degree in 2020 from California State University San Marcos, where he conducted research on transcription-associated mutagenesis using budding yeast as a model organism in the laboratory of Dr. Jane Kim. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, bonding with his flock of pet birds, and watching everything Marvel and Star Wars.
