Cassi Flynn is a PhD student at Memorial University of Newfoundland in her hometown Newfoundland, Canada. She is pursuing a PhD in Medicine (Neuroscience). Her research focus is on abnormal tau proteins in Alzheimer’s Disease in a hyper-phosphorylated tau rat model. Cassi completed her MSc at the University of Sheffield, UK where she studied protein-protein interactions in FTD/MND. Prior to that, she completed her BSc at Memorial University of Newfoundland as well. When not in the lab, Cassi enjoys coaching cheerleading to many different youth groups across the province. She gets great pride from helping her teams win and seeing the joy on their faces when they overcome challenges!
