Andy is a PhD candidate in the Language & Brain Lab at Yale University. His research lies at the intersection of linguistics, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience, and supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, his work focuses primarily on how linguistic meaning is manipulated in real-time, how cognitive and neural architectures support this manipulation, and how individuals differ in these processes. To do this, he looks at the minds, brains, and tongues/fingers of speakers of English, Mandarin, and ASL. As a child, Andy immigrated to the US with his parents from China, and is committed to fighting for racial and queer justice, especially within academia.
