Drew is currently a graduate student at the University of Denver pursuing a Ph. D. in Child Clinical Psychology, specializing in public policy. Drew is an AY 2020-2021 SRCD state policy fellow within the Office of Early Childhood researching child maltreatment prevention, and innovative early childhood programs and strategies for the Colorado early childcare sector. He has on-the-ground experience in early childhood education, having served as a preschool teacher in a nonprofit mental health program and a university-based child care center. Drew has conducted research in a range of settings, including the juvenile justice system, day treatment pre-kindergarten programs, and intervention programs. Drew holds a B.S. in psychology from the University of Utah, and an M.A. in psychology from Teacher's College at Columbia University. Drew's primary research interests include resilience, the buffering influence of protective factors (such as sensitive parenting or quality early childhood education) on early life stress, and behavioral and physiological stress responses in early childhood. Drew enjoys reading, camping, biking, and creating watercolors, among other activities.
