Esther is currently a 3rd year MD/PhD student at the Penn State College of Medicine. She is currently in her PhD training in the lab of Nikolay Dokholyan studying the molecular underpinnings of ALS. Prior to living in PA, Esther grew up in Colorado and attended the University of Colorado Boulder to graduate with her BA in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology. Previous to her current research in molecular neurobiology, she studied genetic heart disease. Her current clinical interests are cardiac and vascular surgery. Outside the hospital and the lab, she loves to spend time with her two dogs and go rock climbing!! She is passionate about talking about science, medicine, and life experiences to growing together.
