Emily is currently an MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. Originally from New Jersey, she studied neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University, graduating in 2017. During her 2 gap years, she spent time at St. Jude doing developmental neurobiology research and at Johns Hopkins working in systems neuroscience labs. Her clinical and research interests center around rare pediatric neurogenetic conditions. Outside of school, she enjoys exploring Philadelphia-area museums, restaurants and parks with her dog, Carl. Emily is very excited to work with and support MD/PhD applicants as they navigate decisions about gap years, the application process and, ultimately, deciding where to matriculate!
