Akshay is an incoming MD-PhD student at Harvard-MIT's joint program in the 'Health Sciences and Technology' track. Akshay plans to do a PhD in Neuroscience and currently applies machine learning and computer vision to studying animal behavior and cognition. He is interested in using these tools to better understand the neural underpinnings of neurological and psychiatric disorders like Autism and Tourrettes. Akshay's originally from Houston, Texas, studied computational biology Stanford, and lived in Barcelona, Spain for a year while on a Fulbright research scholarship. When not in lab, Akshay loves running, djing, cooking, and Indian dance. Akshay is passionate about fighting for justice both within and beyond medical academia and is excited to support applicants in applying to MD-PhD programs. ​
